When it's cold outside, there's nothing like cozying up on the sofa wearing ultra-comfy pajamas. This winter, why notinvest in some new sleepwear—designed by Robin Wright, one of our favorite leading ladies,no less—that will make a difference in the lives of women around the world.
For the next 30 days,Pour Les Femmes,a sleepwear line started by Wright along with designer Karen Fowler, will be donating100 percent—yes, that'sall—of their profits to benefit Synergie des Femmes and Action Kivu, two organizations that are dedicated to helping women in the Congo.
"Pour Les Femmes is so much more than a women's sleepwear company—this is something I believe in because we help address the basic right of a woman to feel safe in her environment," Wright said in a statement.
"Safety—that's just an issue that I take for granted sometimes. But the women in the Congo don't—because they can't.Pour Les Femmes is partnering with the Action Kivu and Synergie organizations to donate 100 percent of its profits from the sales of our pajamas during the next 30 days to help the women of the Congo take back their right to feel safe."
Synergie des Femmesis "a coalition of 35 Congolese women's and human rights' organizations providing medical,psycho-social,and legal aid to victims of sexual violence in war-torn North Kivu province." andAction Kivu"provides the Democratic Republic of Congo's victims of violence with the opportunity to rebuild their lives on a foundation of hope, dignity, and economic self-sustenance."
