What began as a walk down memory lane quickly turned into more futuristic time jumps,as Leslie Knope added yet another super-skill to her binder in theParks and Recreationseries finale: In addition to multitasking,waffle-eating,scrap-booking,gift-giving,politicking,and optimism-spreading,Leslie can now see into a person's future just with her touch. Her crystal-ball power proved especially handy throughout the final episode,as it helped placed a tidy bow on each character's storyline. There were births, deaths, and,of course, political climbs—let's take a look at everything that went down.

Donnamoves with Joe to Seattle, where she's killing it as a real estate agent in 2023.But instead of using her latest commission check to tour the Amazon, she launches a nonprofit foundation to help bring math back to Joe's school—perfectly titled Teach Yo Self.

Craigtakes over the parks department and eventually marries Pawnee hairdresser Typhoon (Ron Swanson serves as best man).

April and Andywelcome their first baby,a boy,on Halloween 2023 (with "Monster Mash" as her birth song). They name him Burt Snakehole Ludgate Karate Dracula Macklin Demon Jack-O-Lantern Dwyer but call him Jack for short.By 2025,they have baby No.2 on the way.

Jean-Ralphiofakes his own death in 2022 with Mona Lisa, and plans to take the insurance money to open a casino in Tajikistan.

Tomlaunches an expansion plan for Tom's Bistro in 2019,but ends up broke and "swaggerless" after the economy tanks and the country runs out of beef.He reinvents himself, not with toddler cologne or Lasik for nails but with his motivational bookFailure: An American Success Story.

Garrybecomes the official mayor of Pawnee, serves ten terms, and dies in his sleep on his 100th birthday—holding hands with Gayle, who still looks exactly the same.

Ronresigns as head of Very Good Construction in 2022,and turns to Leslie for his next move. Her pick?Obviously,a federal government position: superintendent of the Pawnee National Park.

Ann Perkins and Chris Traegerhave two kids by 2025,named Oliver and Leslie, and are moving back to Pawnee (literally, the best news ever).

AndLeslie and Benare both approached in 2025 to run for governor of Indiana, which brings them back to Pawnee and reunites them with the whole Parks & Rec gang.Ben lets Leslie take the campaign (shedidwrite it in her kindergarten dream journal),and by 2035,she's served two terms as governor and has the University of Indiana library dedicated to her name.

But as fun as all the time travel was,it's what we saw in the present—well,2017—that really made the finale. There was no glitz or flash or neat-and-tidy closure to the action;it was simply a rally by the parks department to work on one final project,a broken swing (tiny by Knope standards). But seeing Leslie, doing the work that she loves with the people that she loves, and facing the future with a smile and a brave "I'm ready," is more satisfying than any trip through time.

I'm so sad to see this series go—what did you think of theParks and Recfinale?
