Remember whenKristen StewartandRobert Pattinsonwere starring in theTwilightsaga togetherandwere simultaneously one of Hollywood's biggest power couples?Of course you remember—it was almost too good to be true. And then we found out it actuallywastoo good to be true when they went through a publicbreakupfollowing the release of photos of Stewart kissing director Rupert Sanders. Now,about four years later,Stewart is finally opening up about that chapter of her life.
In her cover story for the latest issue ofTmagazine,Stewart revealed that her relationship with Pattinson wasn't as perfect as it seemed from the outside.
"People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product," she said."It wasn't real life anymore. And that was gross to me.It's not that I want to hide who I am or hide anything I'm doing in my life. It's that I don't want to become a part of a story for entertainment value."
Whoa. While this is mildly dream shattering, she does make a good point.
Luckily, all turned out well.Stewart has been dating a visual-effects producer named Alicia Cargile—"I love her so much," she gushed toT—and reports that she's very happy.Plus, she's more open to this relationship being in the public eye for an interesting reason.
"I would never talk about any of my relationships before, but once I started dating girls it seemed like there was an opportunity to represent something really positive," she said."I still want to protect my personal life, but I don't want to seem like I'm protecting the idea,so that does sort of feel like I owe something to people."
Right on,Kristen.If she's happy,we're happy.
