Barbie looks pretty damn good for 50,wouldn't you say?And considering the unending wardrobe mishaps she's endured in her half century (hello, have you ever seen someone with more half-pairs of shoes in your life!?Not to mention the hair tortured by magic markers and mysteriously chewed up toes...),nobody's more deserving of a little makeover.
A while back,Jenny reported that Barbie would be getting her own runway show in celebration of her 50th anniversary, and a lot of you were totally psyched (her horrifically improbable proportions--and inability to menstruate should those proportions be increased to a life-sized scale--aside).Well,we've just gotten some more news about the show and I couldn't wait to share it with you guys.
Barbie will strut her stuff in clothes by 50 different designers, one for each of her years,in a show celebrating "the past, present, and future of w88手机版登录fashion,with Barbie doll as the muse." The list is pretty impressive, and includes some designers I'd definitely imagine her wearing (Badgley Mischka,Marchesa,Donna Karan,Erin Fetherston,Vera Wang),and a few I can hardly imagine *and *hardly wait to see (Alexander Wang,Jeremy Scott,Baby Phat,Tommy Hilfiger). The architect of that old dream house is going to have to start thinking about expanding Barbie's closet space...
Here's the full list of designers:
Carmen Marc Valvo
Diane von Furstenberg
House of Field
Rag & Bone
Three As Four
